I offer a professional service at all times, for hygiene reasons I wear latex gloves during the scan. Rest assured I will treat your home with the utmost respect. If your bitch is excited, nervous, or barking, I will only start the scan when they have become accustomed to me and are calm and comfortable.
Just before the scan, I will apply some ultrasound gel, this is a water-based gel that will cause no harm to your dog and is safe for her.
During the scan, I will talk you through what you’ll see on the screen. And if pregnancy is confirmed you can see the gestational sacs. I will measure the gestational sacs for an estimated due date, to help you prepare for the deliveries. The best time to the scan would be 30 days gestation from the second mating (preferably no more than 35).
I can only scan for pregnancy if any abnormalities are seen on the scan I will advise you to see your vet.
I offer appointments that best suits your needs on weekdays, evenings or weekends.
I also offer a 45+ days scan. This scan will include another abdominal scan to again to confirm your dog is still pregnant and no absorption has occurred. Absorption is when a puppy passes away and is absorbed into the mother’s body. This is mainly caused by illness, stress or foetus abnormalities.
With the 45+ scan, I will be able to detect a heartbeat and observe movement in the pups.
